End of Learning began with a feeling: an engineer who loved the pursuit of understanding wondered what would remain of it as AI became more capable.
This is a small, independent journal about that question and the many lives it touches. We are interested in what people learn, make and care about, and what happens when technology changes the reasons we do those things.
Bring your uncertainty
You do not need a position on the future of AI to belong here. Optimism, anxiety and curiosity can share a table. Personal experience is welcome. Predictions should be treated as predictions, and disagreement should leave the other person room to speak.
The person behind it
The founder writes anonymously as “An engineer.” The ideas should be able to stand on their own. No employer, organisation or professional body is represented here.
How the writing is made
AI may assist with drafting, editing and building this site. We disclose that assistance in our essays. Our starting point is the human experience of learning and making, including the contradictions of using tools that change those experiences.
